Our Philosophy
We have
always strived to be a family orientated company. Many of us have had our wives
and children involved in the hobby. We have watched as they have grown in the hobby
and eventually becoming soldiers or civilians in the field. We strive to be as
authentic as possible. Most of us were
all strangers to one another when we joined and soon we all become fast
friends. You would be hard pressed to find a better grade of people then
re-enactors. When sitting around the camp fire for 2 or 3 days at a
re-enactment or living history, you can actually have a real conversation and
not be bothered by cell phones computers or other so called modern
conveniences. Just sitting there looking
at the stars at night has a rejuvenating effect on me at least. If you love American history you probably
share more with us then most people you now know. We are captivated by how less
complicated things were of the time and how in those times the values were more
like we wish they were today. We base
our impression on what a typical solider as a Pennsylvania volunteer was issued
as a uniform. That is why we don’t allow strange hats, coats or clothing beyond
what a typical soldier would wear on formation.
Accepted equipment includes; a forage or bummer cap, sack coat and
standard blue kersey trousers. Many re-enactors have put much expense and time
into developing their impression and we wish not to diminish the soldier we
represent from those honored regiments. Many of us are former soldiers
ourselves and as we wear the uniform of a circa 1860’s soldier we have great
pride and respect for any uniform of an American Soldier. When wearing the US
or CS uniform take pride in the person you represent and the sacrifice they
gave for their country, be it North or South, they were American servicemen and women. So, if you
have been looking for a hobby that you would be proud to involve your family
with, consider the 11th reserves. We’re always looking for great
people. WWW.11thpa.com
